The Tradition of Commisisoned Art

Commissioning an traditional painting is an intimate, collaborative experience that dates back centuries. It is the process of translating a personal legacy, a memory, or an emotion into structural paint and linen canvas.

Whether you desire a formal family portrait, an ethereal study of a loved one, or a custom figurative painting, I implement the exact color palette and execution strategies derived from academic masters.

Working primarily in professional, archival acrylic media and fine cotton canvas, each completed artwork is designed to act as an archival heirloom for your estate.

The Commission Process

01/

Consultation & Concept

We begin with a conversation about your ideal vision, canvas size, color environment, and references. You will supply reference photographs or arrange a live sitting if geographically viable.

02/

The Charcoal Understudy

Before paint touches the canvas, I create a physical charcoal study representing the values and proportions. Upon your approval, we move onto the painting process.

03/

Creation & Delivery

The canvas painting process could take 6–12 weeks. When dry, the work is varnished and packaged securely in a custom crate, accompanied by a signed and sealed Document of Authenticity.
